PANAR — Pan African Retail (Pty) Ltd — is a proudly registered South African online marketplace built exclusively for African-owned businesses and products. Founded in 2024 and officially registered in 2026, PANAR was born from a simple but powerful observation:
Walk into any South African home and look at the products on the shelves. The food, the clothing, the electronics, the furniture — chances are almost none of them were made by a Black person.
That is the problem we are here to solve.
The Problem
Despite Black South Africans making up over 80% of the population, the racial wealth gap in South Africa remains one of the most severe in the world. Black people are the country's biggest consumers, yet contribute a fraction of its producers, business owners and brands. The products filling our homes and our lives are largely made by others — and our spending continues to build wealth for everyone but us.
This is not just a South African problem. Across Africa and throughout the diaspora, Black people spend trillions every year, yet a disproportionately small share of that spending finds its way back into Black hands.
Our Solution
PANAR is our answer. A marketplace where African-owned products take centre stage. Where Black entrepreneurs can reach customers across South Africa — and eventually across Africa and the world. Where every purchase is an act of purpose.
We handle the listings. Vendors handle the products. Customers get access to unique, quality products made by people who look like them.

We want to walk into every household — in South Africa, across Africa and around the world — and find at least one product made by one of us.
One product that puts money into a Black family's hands. One product that builds generational wealth. One product that says: we are not just consumers — we are creators, innovators and owners.

PANAR was founded by Bright Ntuli — a South African artist and entrepreneur who got tired of waiting for someone else to build it. Two years of work, one registered company, and a vision big enough for an entire continent.
