Some businesses start in boardrooms. Others start in townships, with nothing but skill, determination and the refusal to wait for someone else to create what you know you can build yourself. Ntokozo Mtsweni's story is the second kind — and what he has built with his hands over the past decade is nothing short of remarkable.
The Man Behind the Brand

Ntokozo Mtsweni — widely known online as Ntokozo Zenzelayo — is the founder and CEO of Zenzelayo Pty Ltd, a proudly South African manufacturing business based in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga.
What began as a small startup in 2015 has grown into a well-known supplier of custom wooden and steel products serving clients across Southern Africa. From township entrepreneur to manufacturer with a nationwide footprint — Ntokozo built this with his own hands, one product at a time.
What Zenzelayo Makes

Zenzelayo Pty Ltd operates across two powerful production branches — woodwork and steelwork — serving both corporate hospitality clients and residential households.
On the woodwork side, Ntokozo and his team manufacture traditional African wooden dishes known as Ugqoko, personalised serving trays, chopping boards and specialised wooden tables crafted for restaurants, Shisanyamas, carwashes, pubs and fast-food corners. These are not mass-produced items. They are handcrafted pieces that carry the identity and warmth of African craftsmanship in every grain.
On the steelwork side, Zenzelayo fabricates and installs structural assets including sliding gates, palisades, carports, shelters, fences and durable tyre-and-steel benches — built to last and built to serve.
Two trades. One standard. Uncompromising quality.
The Reach
From their workshop at 2671 Nelson Mandela Drive, Mountain View, KwaMhlanga, Zenzelayo Pty Ltd coordinates nationwide shipping across all nine South African provinces — and regularly exports to neighbouring countries including Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
What started as a local township business now reaches across borders. That is what happens when quality speaks for itself.
The Journey

Ntokozo's story has been featured by Vukuzenzele — South Africa's government magazine dedicated to celebrating citizens who are making a difference. That recognition is not just an accolade. It is confirmation that what he is building matters far beyond the products themselves.
He is creating jobs. He is preserving African craft. He is showing young people in KwaMhlanga and beyond that manufacturing excellence can come from the township — and go to the world.
