Mandisa Sangweni is the Founder and CEO of ICONIC Scents, a premium fragrance brand based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. With a background in Chemical Engineering, Mandisa brings both science and soul to everything she creates — perfumes and home diffusers crafted to deliver a luxury experience without the luxury price tag.
How It Started
ICONIC Scents was not born in a laboratory or a business school. It was born in a quiet, personal moment of transition.
When Mandisa's engineering contract came to an end, she found herself navigating a season that many people go through but few talk openly about. Transition can be lonely. It can be disorienting. And it can also, if you let it, become the beginning of something extraordinary.

In the next three to five years Mandisa sees ICONIC Scents becoming one of South Africa's recognised fragrance brands — expanding into perfumes, home diffusers, room sprays, soaps and home and body care products, building retail partnerships and creating employment opportunities along the way.
But beyond the products, Mandisa's vision is bigger than a brand. She wants ICONIC Scents to be known for inspiring people — to embrace every stage of their journey, to show up with confidence, and to believe that the season they are in right now is not the end of their story.
